Yes, Loretta Chase is the perfect intro to romance--I actually liked Lord of Scoundrels a little more than Mr. Impossible, though. If you want contemporary romance, go with Jennifer Crusie!
I also adore Mr. Impossible and Lord of Scoundrels. Mr. Impossible is obviously influenced by The Mummy movie, which is why I love it -- all of the romance, not so much creepy mummies!
